The 55th Filmfare Awards are round the corner and Shah Rukh Khan who has been busy promoting his film My Name Is Khan of late, will now step into the shoes of host for the night on Saturday night.
The actor has been working on his monologue for the past couple of days with his writers.
“He has been so busy that he hasn’t had any time to prepare for the award night. Normally by now his sessions with the writers is done and he is well on his way to memorizing his monologue and stuff. But he only had the first session with his writers last night,” says our source.
And like every year this year too we can be ready for a whole lot of laughs in true King Khan style.

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan isn’t intimidated by the full body-scan machines that have been recently installed at London’s airports - in fact, he’s been signing off printouts of his X-rays.
Khan, appearing on ‘Friday Night With Jonathan Ross’ - one of British television’s most popular weekend shows - revealed he’s been turning the controversial security machines into a public relations opportunity at London’s Heathrow airport.
‘I’m always stopped by the security, because of the name. And I think its okay: the western world is a little bit worried, paranoid and touchy, I guess - and feely when they’re frisking you,’ Khan told his celebrity chat show host moments after explaining how his new film is about a Muslim named Khan on a mission to tell the US president he is not a terrorist.

With his film My Name Is Khan releasing on Feb 12, Shah Rukh Khan is all over the place. Be it at award functions or press conferences or on your favorite reality show, SRK is leaving no stone unturned to promote his big release. What's more, he also features on the cover page of leading men's magazine GQ in the February issue.
King Khan, as he is fondly known as, is seen sporting a disheveled, spiky look and holding a placard which states 'Where's The Love?' The actor talks about a wide variety of topics in this issue such as his equation with the Bachchans, Aamir Khan and Salman Khan to his oddest quirks. Speaking about quirks, SRK says, "I have a strange attachment to socks. They should feel right. I could be missing a flight, but if my socks are wrong, I have to take them off. I won't wear nylon socks with sneakers. The only time I get disturbed during shooting is over my socks. You can't give me brown socks. Despite strong rumours that the two friends have fallen apart, Farah Khan’s fondness for Shah Rukh Khan reigns supreme. Ever since Akshay Kumar was roped in for Farah Khan’s Tees Maar Khan, it was touted that SRK and Farah were no longer on talking terms. The director however, silenced all those wagging tongues with her recent remarks. Farah told her technical team that it is SRK’s Ra1 that should be given priority over her film, Tees Maar Khan.

The next time Shah Rukh Khan is in the mood to watch a movie, he won't have to step out of his house. The actor has built a state-of-the-art mini theatre on the premises of Mannat.
The select few who have seen the 45-seat theatre - the latest addition to his palatial house - can't stop raving about the sound system and the plush interiors.

Last evening Shah Rukh Khan was the special guest at the screening of James Cameron's ,Avatar at a suburban multiplex.
Shah Rukh was so enamoured after watching half the film, that he came out of hall and went up to the studio officials and requested them to organise a special screening for his two children and family members. The officials of the studio immediately assured him that they will do the needful.
A source said, "SRK has always been quite fond of science fiction and superhero films. Even as a child, he would always watch similar kind of films.This is why he immediately agreed to attend the special screening of Avatar.

My children have educated me about the need for protecting the environment, Bollywood star, Shah Rukh Khan has stated.Inaugurated the '"Earth from Above'" exhibition by French photographer, Yann Arthus Bertrand yesterday Mr Khan said awareness among the younger generation on environmental issues was higher, thanks to introduction of subjects like '"Environmental Studies'" in their curriculum.
'' I don't think, we including myself pay enough attention to the environment. But my daughter has started suggesting to go for car pool to protect the environment. I in turn tell them we should all bathe together to bond with them and save water. Lately we have taken steps from switching off unused electrical appliances and the air-conditioning in the house and office,'' he said.
